Refund Policy

We want you to feel confident using FriendsMap. This policy explains when and how you can request a refund for any paid features or subscriptions. Please read it carefully before making a purchase.
1. Free tier
FriendsMap's core features are available free of charge. There is nothing to refund for the free tier.
2. Donations
Voluntary donations made to support FriendsMap are a gift to help sustain the project and are non-refundable. By making a donation, you acknowledge that no goods or services are being purchased and that the donation is final. If a donation was made in error (e.g. duplicate payment or an amount significantly larger than intended), please contact us within 7 days at contact@friendsmap.me and we will review your request on a case-by-case basis.
3. Paid subscriptions
FriendsMap may offer optional paid subscription plans ("Premium"). The following refund terms apply:
3.1 Monthly subscriptions
- You may cancel a monthly subscription at any time through your account settings or the app store.
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you retain access to Premium features until then.
- We do not provide refunds for the unused portion of a monthly billing period after cancellation, except where required by law.
- New subscriptions: If you subscribe for the first time and are not satisfied, you may request a full refund within 7 days of the initial charge by contacting us at contact@friendsmap.me. This 7-day satisfaction guarantee applies once per account.
3.2 Annual subscriptions
- If you cancel an annual subscription within 14 days of the initial purchase date, you are entitled to a full refund.
- After 14 days and within the first 6 months of the annual period, you may request a pro-rated refund for the unused full months remaining on your subscription. Partial months are not refunded.
- After 6 months of an annual subscription, no refund is available for the remaining period. You may cancel to prevent auto-renewal.
3.3 Auto-renewal charges
- If your subscription auto-renews and you did not intend to renew, contact us at contact@friendsmap.me within 7 days of the renewal charge date. We will issue a full refund for the renewal charge provided you have not continued to use Premium features after the renewal date.
- To prevent auto-renewal, cancel your subscription at least 24 hours before the renewal date in your account settings or through the relevant app store.
4. App store purchases (iOS and Android)
If you purchased a subscription through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, the refund is processed by the respective platform, not directly by FriendsMap:
- Apple App Store: Visit reportaproblem.apple.com and follow Apple's refund request process. Apple's refund policies govern these transactions.
- Google Play Store: Visit play.google.com/store/account/orderhistory and submit a refund request. Google's refund policies govern these transactions.
FriendsMap is unable to process refunds for purchases made through the App Store or Google Play directly. If you have difficulty obtaining a refund through the platform, contact us and we will do our best to assist.
5. Non-refundable circumstances
Refunds will not be issued in the following circumstances:
- Requests made outside the applicable refund window described above.
- Accounts that have been suspended or terminated due to violations of our Terms and Conditions.
- Charges that were disputed or charged back through a payment provider or bank without first contacting FriendsMap — chargebacks may result in account suspension.
- Dissatisfaction with features that were accurately described at the time of purchase and which are functioning as intended.
- Loss of access due to failure to cancel before the renewal date when adequate notice of the upcoming renewal was provided.
6. Technical issues and service outages
If a significant outage or technical failure on our part prevents you from using Premium features you paid for, we will credit your account or issue a pro-rated refund for the affected period at our discretion. Please report such issues to us at contact@friendsmap.me as soon as possible with details of the problem.
7. How to request a refund
To request a refund directly from FriendsMap (for direct purchases not made through an app store), please:
- Email contact@friendsmap.me with the subject line "Refund Request".
- Include your registered phone number or email address, the date of the charge, the amount, and the reason for your request.
- Submit your request within the applicable refund window stated in this policy.
We will acknowledge your request within 3 business days and process eligible refunds within 10 business days of approval. Refunds are issued to the original payment method. Processing times may vary depending on your bank or payment provider.
8. Consumer rights
This Refund Policy does not limit or override any statutory consumer rights you may have under applicable law. Canadian consumers may have additional rights under provincial consumer protection legislation. Nothing in this policy is intended to waive or exclude those statutory rights.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will post the revised policy on this page with a new effective date. The policy in effect at the time of your purchase governs that purchase. Continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
